Ichchhakamana Devi Cable car Project

This Project is based on Ichchhakamana Devi Temple. It is located at Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality Ward No. 4, in the Mahabharata mountain range of Chitwan district. The temple of Ichchhakamana Devi is located on the South Mahabharata Mountain, beyond the Fisling Bazar on the Prithvi Highway. Ichchhakamana and Manakamana temples are on opposite hills. It is called wishful thinking because it fulfills the wishes of tourists who reach the pilgrimage.

The Ichchhakamana Temple is a significant religious site located in the middle part of Nepal. It holds great cultural and religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists in the region. Ichchhakamana Devi is sister of Manakamana Mai among her seven sisters. During the time of the Bhure Takure kings, Mankamana was the fort on the southern border of Gorkha, while Ichchhakamana was the northern fort of Makwanpur. Ichchhakamana was also established by Sen Raja of Makwanpur as a northern fort at the top of the hill. Later, in year 1965 B.S., Maniraj Darlami, a local shepherd, got a vision of Ichchhakamana Mai . After that, the villagers built a stone temple and started worshiping.

It is believed that the temple is dedicated to Goddess Ichchhakamana, who is believed to fulfill the wishes of her devotees. “Ichchha” means wish and “Kamana” means desire in Nepali. Devotees from various parts of Nepal and even from neighboring countries visit the temple to pray for their desires to be fulfilled. The temple is particularly crowded during festivals and special occasions, such as Dashain, Mansir Krishna Panchami and Teej.

The lower station of the Cablecar is nearby Ramailo Danda on the Prithvi Highway and the Top station is at Ichchhakamana Devi Temple. The journey of Cable car to Ichchhakamana Temple often involves a panoramic view, offering devotees not just a religious experience but also a chance to enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. Many pilgrims undertake this journey on Cable car as a form of penance or devotion. The Ichchhakamana Temple, serves as a spiritual sanctuary for devotees seeking the fulfillment of their desires. The location of this Cablecar project amidst the serene natural beauty of the Nepalese countryside adds to its allure, making it not just a place of worship but also a destination for those seeking tranquility and spiritual rejuvenation.

This Cablecar project holds enough mountains and greenery which can entertain visitors.  When you reach the top station at Ichchhakamana temple, in clear weather, one can observe the panoramic view of the longest mountain range from Ganesh Himal to Machhapuchhre. Thankot in Kathmandu including Bharatpur, Narayangadh, Hetaunda and Tandi can also be observed. Khaiwung, Namjung hill, Makaising, Bhumlichok, Bagling village, Tanglichok, Tinmane Bhajyang and Mankamana temple can be seen in the north of the project site. The visitor can study and observe the historical Kot and Chepang settlement and culture. From this cable car journey to temple, green dense forest, mountains, plains of the Terai, Laligurans blooming in the month of Falgun Chaitra, can be clearly seen. The yellow oranges that ripen all over the place in winter make the heart happy. During the winter season we can see oranges in the fields on the journey of Cable car to Ichchhakamana.
